Franciscan monastery and church was founded in 1448 by the last earl of Opava and Glubczyce from the Premyslid family, Jan Pobožný. Temporary complex was built in 1753 - 1770, designed by Jan Inocenc Topper of Prudnik. The complex consists of the monastery building of a quadrangle shape with a heavenly court in its center and a baroque church of Sv. Jijlí and Bernard. Above the church portal, you can notice the relief emblem of the Franciscan Order: Christ´s and Sv. František´s of Assisi folded arms. The decoration of the temple remained in Baroque-Rococo style. The building surrounding the monastery (there used to be a grammar school) was built in 1752.
